Crud & Rust in Puch Gas Tank

<HTML>Since the gas tank in a Puch is not removable. How do you suggest I get rid of the rust build up inside the tank?</HTML>

RE: Crud &amp; Rust in Puch Gas Tank

<HTML>Dave,

use the acid they sell at pool stores to clean your tank. REMOVE THE FUEL TAP FIRST!!!. PLUG HOLE WHERE FUEL TAP WAS. CAREFULLY ADD ACID TO TANK AND SWISH AROUND. GIVE ACID TIME TO WORK. RINSE OUT WITH WATER. BLOW TANK DRY WITH HAIR DRYER OR COMPRESSOR. TREAT TANK WITH KREEM.

I am in west chester pa and would be very happy to help

WesParker /

<HTML>You could do what i did and take an old plastic lawn tractor gas tank and mount it on the pack rack.</HTML>

RE: Crud &amp; Rust in Puch Gas Tank

<HTML>The '78 Puch newport is in mint condition. There is no threat of rust through. Just checking how to clean it up a bit. No need to "jerry-rig" anything on. Thank you for the suggestion. When the tank rusts through 30 years from now - maybe I'll think about it.</HTML>

RE: Crud &amp; Rust in Puch Gas Tank

<HTML>Dave I am selling my 78 puch with speed kit and some nice extra parts for only 250 if interested.
