<HTML>I have a 1986 honda spree. The top speed that i get is 31mph, which isn't bad in a 25mph zone but i have a lot of roads in my city that are 30-35 mph and im sick of pricks riding my ass. Is there any real easy things that i can do to increase the speed by about 5 mph without spending any money or causing harm to my scooter?</HTML>
<HTML>pump up your tires a little harder. Grease the axels really good with coppergrease. Clean the wheelbarings with thinner (or something like it) and then grease them with coppergrease. Make sure the chain is well lubricated. Tune your carb. Time the ignition. The hard tires alone will give you about 2 or 3 extra Mph.</HTML>
<HTML>why don't you take a look down your exhaustpipe. There may be a small round obstruction put in by the manufactor to keep you from breaking any speedlimits.Get it out!!!
It's also possible that you have a split. This means that your exhaustpipe has a smaller sidepipe that leads to nowhere an is closed of at the end.This is also done by the manufactor for the same reasons....
If this is the case, you have to have that sidepipe sealed of (you can close the inside ,but leave the pipe where it is,so the cops don't see you've messed with it).
DON'T CLOSE OF YOUR ORIGINAL PIPE!!!!!
Both these measures will increase your speed with about 12 to 20 mph
