Are Puch Maxi Korado still being made??

Just wondering if they are still being made. Does anyone have them, and how are they?

Are they decently built??

I found 2 sites with them, but im not sure if they are outdated

Thanks

Re: Are Puch Maxi Korado still being made??

they are not still in production because puch went out of buisness a while ago and anyway korado's are horrible if they are kickstart because there is no bearing for the end of the crankshaft only an aluminum resting place and the shaft wallows it out and wastes the bearings and then the engine. but with pedal it is all good

I've seen them at http://www.stevesmoped.com, I think they're korado's. They're new puch mopeds, anyway.

Re: Are Puch Maxi Korado still being made??

Yeah, I saw them there too, but that site is never updated.

How do they actually get a NEW puch engine on that korado, if puch has gone out of business??

I want to get my hands on an engine..

Hero Puch?

I don't know anything about them but there is something called Hero Puch:

Re: Are Puch Maxi Korado still being made??

It was brought to my attention by someone,I can't remember who, that the Puch Korados don't have pedals that are being sold now. That's a killer in Ohio and many other states if you want to call it a moped. Is this true of all Puch models sold now? They look like a pretty nice bike. But looks can be deceiving, can't they?Wonder what the prices are ?

Re: Hero Puch?

Puch is out of business. Piaggio of Italy (Vespa) now owns the Puch brand name. I imagine that Korado and Hero are manufacturing the engines under license agreement just like Avanti is manufacturing the Garelli engines.

Re: Are Puch Maxi Korado still being made??

Hi Anthony

I have one in my inventory, see pic. Yes they are still made in Slovenia by Manet but not currently being imported. Steve's used to sell them but doesn't have them until they are imported again. Steve's does have parts, The one I have is a 1995 and it is a totally awesome bike, Will zip right out from under me going up a hill and I weigh 220. It has a CDI ignition and it is restricted to 30 mph.

Manet licenses the Puch engine as does several other manufacturers. This bike combines my two favorite bikes. It has a tubular steel frame like the Vespa Grande (only a single pipe frame) and the Puch engine.

Here is the link to Manet's site. Click on Technical Specs

Nice bikes,Zippy! I couldn't get the link to work where I could see more than one model, though.Wish they still sold them here.More selection means more competition, which usually translates to lower prices for all.

Hi Don

Look right above the picture and you should see an arrow to go to the next model.

Some very nice bikes.
