sachs 505/1d stator plate wiring

bike: Sachs G3 (505/1d motor)

anyone have any experience with these? I have all good parts (I think) bur all the wires are jumbled up on the stator plate, I want to rewire it, does anyone have a diagram or even a picture of a correctly wired plate I can see? thanks...

Hi Steve,

I have a wiring diagram that Handy Bikes sent me. It matched up w/ my 505/1D, so it's good. I can fax it to you if you have access to a fax, or it not, I can try to describe it in a post. Let me know... Mike Bartell, who also follows this forum, has alot of Sachs experience. He helped me out when I rebuilt mine. But don't let us scare you off when we admit that neither of ours yet run!

Mike-

yeah, I dont have access to a fax machine anymore (I'm laid off - doh!), but if you can send me a description of that stator that would be so swell, or better yet a scan of that diagram would make me forever grateful.

I'll find a scanner around here, should have something posted this evening.

FINE! Just for that I'm going to get mine running. I would have started in on it again, but I just got the weirdest little bike, a Kawasaki AR80.

There are a couple of diffrent set- ups on the Sachs a 3- wire and the 4-wire. The four wire is a bosch, and the 3 wire is a company from spain, that I can't remember right now. Mike- if you scan yours, I could use a copy, and compare what the diffrent systems are. I'll e-mail you with a fax number.

good luck steve, and don't worry about it - the Sachs is worth all the work you'll put into it. It may not be the fastest around, but the ride is really nice.

see ya

We'll see how this works... it's the wiring diagram in PDF format. Use the freely available Adobe acrobat viewer/reader. This is the diagram for 1980 Sachs and later. Earlier ones were different in various ways, but there's still useful information in here.

NOTE! One thing that isn't on the diagram is the points & condensor & and the coils inside the magneto...

1) Yellow wire connects to a lone coil inside the magneto.

2) Blue w/ Black connects to the other coil inside the magneto.

3) Blue comes from the points.

4) On my bike there's either a white or black (can't remember which) wire that goes from the points to the condensor, and then the case of the condensor is grounded.
