The chrome rails came on almost all puch step-thru's. Look at the transmission, if the right side of the trans is kind of a flat hexagon and says "PUCH" across it, it's a two speed (mkII). If it's got a circle that protrudes from the cover and doesn't say puch on it, it's a single speed (maxi). If it's got (or looks like it had at one time) pin stripes on the tank and fenders and has some swirly gold lines on red lettering on the tank decals, it's a newport. If it has a chrome front fender and a longer seat that covers half the rack on the rear fender and mag wheels, it's a maxi sport.
and if its got 4 legs and a tail and doesn't like you to sit on it... that would be a pooch ... and you've got the wrong message board.
: )
lol at fred.
and brandon ... man you sure know your puchs! maybe better than "moped bill". ;-)
Oh, I wouldn't say that, miguel. I still can't do much igntion work. But I have done my research on puchs. Oh, one model I forgot, the GN. It looks like a maxi with no rear suspension or speedometer. I've got a red one that I just got running today :D
Brandon, you are the puch master!
