cleaning a carb on an lx is simple, but takes time.

first remove the plastic side cover under the gas tank on the right side of the bike. turn the gas off. remove the rectangle shaped air box. now you should be able to see the carb. it has the gas line going to it and the choke lever sticking out of it. there is one screw that holds it on, loosen that screw and slide the carb back off the intake. remove the top two screws where the throttle cable goes into the top of the carb, but do not turn the adjuster that the cable goes thru.

now disassemble the entire carb. wash every part in carb cleaner and let the carb body soak in carb cleaner for about 15 minutes. rinse all the parts in water or solvent. get a fine piece of wire and poke it thru any holes you can find in the carbs body and all its parts. follow this up with blasts of carb cleaner to be sure the holes are clean. blow off everything thoroughly with an air compressor or use a can of compressed air. reassembly is the opposite of disassembly.

there is a service manual on www.mopedriders.org in the moped repair section for your bike in case you need more help.
