Help! I am very new to this moped thing, having recently acquired a 1980 Motobecane Moby 50V. In mentioning this to a friend, well, one thing led to another and she and her husband gave me a moped that they had for a few years with the intention of getting running, but never did. So it's mine now. It needs some TLC - brake adjustments, rear turn signal, fix the flat, spark plug wire, etc. - and I don't even know if it'll run, but with what I've read on this forum, that should be relatively easy. It shows only 350 miles on the odometer, has very little rust (only on the muffler and one rim). However, I have no idea what make it is. Maybe you can help out.

There is not a word of English on the bike. There are two Japanese or Chinese characters on the front horn panel, either side of the gas tank, on the back of the front and passenger seats, and molded into the plastic drive cover, that I assume are the make and/or model. The bike frame and fenders are orange-painted metal. The gas tank is white, and the plastic side covers are molded orange. It has rear passsenger footpegs (really heavy duty shocks - definitely built for two), and both seats are brown vinyl, with the above mentioned characters on the backs. Engine has no markings that I saw, but I didn't look very hard. The muffler is a relatively squarish, tank shaped thing that hangs on the bottom of the engine. Spark plug is parallel to the ground. The only numbers I understood were "JT50A" on the manufacturer plate, and a stamped number that I assume is the serial number.

Anybody have any ideas? Any leads will be greatly appreciated.
