Re: handy bikes

Well, there is an older lady there that is a little less friendly over the phone.I just ask for Bob Jones and if he's not there for some reason,I just call later. She's really not been rude to me,just `matter of fact' like.Know what I mean? And B.J.'s never had a bad word to me even thru some stupid question I may have asked. They have a lot of older inventory and can get a lot of other stuff, but they're not into `super friendly' because of the heavy work load they have.I've been in there when Bob didn't have one second to talk, and had to wait 5 minutes solid before. But that's o.k. with me `cause I ain't no `New York minute' guy. When you know Bob you'll find he's really trying to help you out.And like Forrest Gump says,Ron: `That's all I gotta say about that'.

Re: handy bikes

hey don i agree 100 percent, bj has been great to me , and i was not bad mouthing handy bikes, but rude is rude, i operate my own buisness, and you can not be rude to customers, i called friday to see if my parts were priced so i could send a check , i was informed that she didnt have the time to look to see if they had been priced, and hung up. that was a 100 dollar order, sounds like rude to me

Re: handy bikes

Right Cathy! If you run your own business you know that that is one thing you can't afford to do.She's a nervous sort,I've noticed.Combine that with being elderly and they can come off pretty terse.I kind of feel for Bob `cause he's in the middle, you know? What you hope is that just as soon as she hung up,or shortly after, she realized her rudeness.I used to run a concrete finishing company and I would never let any of my workers mouth off to a contractor or homeowner unless they were being mistreated.I hope if you deal with them again you get way better treatment.BYE!

I've had a problem with her lately too - she seemed to imply that my order was "small", and "not worth her time". It was small, just a petcock since she didn't have the seat that I needed, but it's still an order. On top of that, I order from there often, and recommend to everyone I know that they call there. I've actually considered not recommending it based on the service I got.

I have to take that back though, because Handy Bikes has been there for me in the past, and I know that B.J. or Bob Smith would bend over backwards for a customer who loves mopeds. They've both personally taken me around the shop just because I was so excited to be around so much moped related stuff.

On my first trip to Handy Bikes, having discovered it by accident while in Columbus with my moped, B. J. even gave me a giant Motobecane vinyl banner for free.

Simon,

It sounds like Handy Bikes is a good place to do business with the exception of this one employee. Hopefully, someone at Handy Bikes will see this thread and correct the problem.
