These terrorists knew that they were going to die, so why not keep fighting until that point? Also, bear in mind that I doubt anyone on board had anything that would remotely act as a weapon, making them defenseless against a small group of men who had nothing to lose and were extremely ruthless. I feel that the passengers had no choice, I don't think that they could've fought back... but, I've heard that there were two cell phone calls from the 4th plane (that crashed outside of Pitsburgh) where one stated that "We are going to die so we better do what we can..." or something close to that. So, the passengers may have retaken the plane for a brief moment, but just enough time to drive it into the ground thus preventing the further loss of innocent civilian lives at the hands of the terrorists. Yet, I do have a bad feeling deep inside that maybe our government did have something to do with that other plane going down. Either way, the passengers and crew were going to die, so maybe it was in the nation's best interest that the government took the steps to "unarm" the flying bomb. We may never know, but I can at least take confindence in our government's united approach to solve this problem where differences between the two parties have been put aside. Now, if only the government could stay that way.
