My machine uses two 15W 12V bulbs for its frontal illumination. Can these be direct swapped for more powerful versions, say 30W?
With winter on its' way, I could do with some extra light.

What really matters in this question is the total output of your magneto. If the output is 25W, a 30W lamp would be of no benefit, plus it would drain down the rest of the system.
Mopeds pretty much use all the electricity they produce.

Lights, dont get me started
I need 6V 10 W lights, but they are discontinued, as in never again, I put a 6V 15W in and now I have no horn, that sucks.
I dont think you should play with it, much
Jason:
There is an outfit called Bulbs Direct that may have the lamps you are looking for. I haven't used them, but their site is informative.
They are at www.bulbsdirect.com, which is no surprise.

I've done a lot of pedalling to try to get a 12 volt light to work in my ped but the engine won't start with it. 6 volts seems like all I can do, and then the engine starts easy. My question is why the dang thing is designed for bright/dim, and brake lights (dual filaments) but these dual-6 volt bulbs are not available anywhere? At present I ride with straight 6 volts in front and back. Thanks.
Did I miss something on the www.bulbsdirect.com web site address because all I get is a gardening page for flower bulbs. I took their advice and planted some burnt out light bulbs 6" in the ground but they don't seem to be growing. I don't know if I'm over watering or under watering them or do I have to wait until spring to see them grow. I thought may be I planted them upside down so I dug them up and flipped them, but still no bulb plants.
Brian
the bulbs you planted need LIGHT!....har,har,..har
Brian,
Like you, I immediately went to the site because I need a speedo light for my motobecane.
I think your problem can be solved with a liberal aplication of bull shit. : )
Ron
Ron,
Thanks Ron I'll try that. I know where I can get some free B.S. just a few posts away.
