My Moped Website

Hay this is for sure one of the best sites on the internet it seems to have a little of everything. I first came here when I first got my moped and this site and some of the links helped me find out more about mopeds.

Now I have dared to start a website of my own, not to compeate. I just wanted to start my oen site, for something to do on my lunch breaks at work.

check it out the address is...

www.angelfire.com/retro/mopeds check it out

I really would love your stories and what not to post on the site to try and bring the moped community closer, and make my site better.

Re: My Moped Website

Great site Yoyo! Good start at building, looks like.I just wonder,is there any way to remedy having that little dinky seat on such an otherwise nice bike as that Honda? Can you replace it without too much effort so you could ride in more comfort, possibly carrying two people? I remember riding on a Honda 50 years ago;it seems like 1964.It had a nice big seat if I remember right.Would that interchange?

Re: My Moped Website

In Canada, its illegal to have 2 people on a moped even if it is a 2 seater. That sux. I will hopefully have pics of my moped on the site soon. I just need to try and get that digital camera and I have to wait another week.

The seat as actually very comfortable it is wide and big, I have a bigger moped it seems. This seat is the only one that will fit because on it because of the way it attaches to the frame and the luggege rack on the back is in the way, and where the gas tank is. I just want to re-stuff it .

Re: My Moped Website

Jason, where did you hear about no two riders on a ped in Can?

Never ran into that yet, I often ride with my 7yr old on the

back. Just wondering......

Re: My Moped Website

You know,no offense intended here, but those Canadian lawmakers need to `get a life'! So do a lot of Ohio lawpassers. Why not 2 people on a little tough bike that's moving slow? SHEEEESH! One nice thing about my town is the police aren't likely to be `Barney Fyffeing' the regulations at me when I'm riding my 10 yr.old on the back.I installed footpegs and I don't go fast unless it's right when I approach a hill.Good site, and keep it going!

Re: My Moped Website

Hay

I cannot remember whereI heard that, I only heard it reciently though and I will try to find out where I read/heard that. I suggest go to your local police station and as them. I am sorry if I miss led you For my site I have been doing a lot of reading about other laws and I might have gotten mixed up?

But I will try and look into it

Re: My Moped Website

I want to put pegs on my bike any way but like I have said I have to double check that law about 2 people on a ped being illegal. Sorry I may have miss led you on that one. If you look at the laws all over the states canada and anywhere else there are some wacked out laws, like some places you macx cc is something like 85cc. wow

Hay I replyed to you EnjoY Riding one.

Re: My Moped Website

Thanks for checking out my site, I am trying what can I say, keep coming and maybe send me your stories or something, Ill even post pics of your bike and a little right up about you.

Re: My Moped Website

From what I was told by the Ontario Ministry of Transport, you can ride with two people as long as they both have DOT approved helmets on and you are abiding by all posted speed limits. They made EXTRA care to point that one out! I don't know what road I could go over the limit with a passenger. I have a hard enough of a time getting to the limit by myself.

Re: My Moped Website

Thanks for checking that like I sayed I cannot remember where I heard that. But I heard wrong.

Re: My Moped Website

how did you install footpegs on your moped? that sounds so cool.

Re: My Moped Website / footpegs

Well there are the pegs that can drill right onto your front or rear forks or frame or how ever you bike is set up, but they are rare I belive I only have a set of these kind because I took them off of an old BMX I use to have.

I was thinking if I got a regular set of Good Quality Pegs I could slide the tire bolts through them, or maybe get a little longer bolt but it could work. I may have to drill the footpegs hole a litttle bigger but it could still work.

Basicly I was just thinkng about putting the pegs on and when I do get them Ill get a little creative. If I do decide tp put pegs on I'll let ya know but I've still got to think about it.

Peace

Re: My Moped Website / footpegs

I used 90 degree shelf brackets, about 3" in each

direction, drilled out the hole so I could use my

lower rear shock bolts. Take out the bolt, put on the

shelf bracket, put the bolt back on. Works great for the

kids. (Also made a little seat for em, my pa50 has a crappy

little seat). Pulls almost 300lbs around town.

Re: My Moped Website / footpegs

cool. take a picture and post it when it's done. i'd love to see it.

i was thinking of fashioning something like what is on the vespa grande, where the footpegs fold up. and it looks like minimal tinkering with the actual frame of the moped.
