pedals

i am replacing my pedals but i can't unscerw my old pedals because they've been in the chain shaft for like 30 yrs and are rusted, what is the best way to get the screw turning besides wd-40?

Re: pedals

Soak them with a good pentrating oil, like liquid wrench. Let them set for a day and try loosening them. If that doesn't work, heat the end of the crank with a torch, that will expand the crank and loosen the threads. Try wrenching them off as soon as you get the crank hot. Be sure to note which way to turn the wrench. Ken

Re: pedals

A penetrating fluid with graphite in it is the best

use it fot other things to like lubing stuff.
