...and it came like a wave of the ocean.
My moped finally broke down tonight. Not just some small problem, but something in the ignition that I couldn't fix on the side of the road. Well, being the modest guy that I am, I chose not to hassle anyone for a ride and just pedal it home 7 miles. After I found out how exhausting pedaling was after 1 mile, I decided to push it. After about a half a mile of pushing it uphill on gravel, I said "fuck it, I'm leaving it in the ditch." So, the moped hidden away between a couple of trees, I walked another 2.5 miles (which is the most I've walked in my entire life, I get exhausted walking up a flight of stairs) before a couple of guys in a truck picked me up, went back for my moped, and hauled both of us home. Now, I'm dizzy and aching all over, but the bike and I are home. It's kind of funny that it killed at the point I had been the farthest from home that day. Also what's funny is that had it been any other machine, I would have destroyed it on the spot. Not the moped, though. All the other trouble-free miles really paid off. I should have seen the breakdown coming, and on my way to the place that it broke down, all I was thinking about was how I couldn't believe how many trouble-free miles I had on it. I'm really tired right now, so I'll investigate the problem tomorrow.
Serves me right for bragging so hard in the "SUCKERS!" post. :)
Oh, and I would like to once again thank those guys who picked me up. You guys are lifesavers!
I'm so incredibly tired, I can't even believe I'm still typing. I really should stop and go to bed. That would be advisable, as I don't think I'm gonna be able to keep at it for very... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
