I knew it was coming...

...and it came like a wave of the ocean.

My moped finally broke down tonight. Not just some small problem, but something in the ignition that I couldn't fix on the side of the road. Well, being the modest guy that I am, I chose not to hassle anyone for a ride and just pedal it home 7 miles. After I found out how exhausting pedaling was after 1 mile, I decided to push it. After about a half a mile of pushing it uphill on gravel, I said "fuck it, I'm leaving it in the ditch." So, the moped hidden away between a couple of trees, I walked another 2.5 miles (which is the most I've walked in my entire life, I get exhausted walking up a flight of stairs) before a couple of guys in a truck picked me up, went back for my moped, and hauled both of us home. Now, I'm dizzy and aching all over, but the bike and I are home. It's kind of funny that it killed at the point I had been the farthest from home that day. Also what's funny is that had it been any other machine, I would have destroyed it on the spot. Not the moped, though. All the other trouble-free miles really paid off. I should have seen the breakdown coming, and on my way to the place that it broke down, all I was thinking about was how I couldn't believe how many trouble-free miles I had on it. I'm really tired right now, so I'll investigate the problem tomorrow.

Serves me right for bragging so hard in the "SUCKERS!" post. :)

Oh, and I would like to once again thank those guys who picked me up. You guys are lifesavers!

I'm so incredibly tired, I can't even believe I'm still typing. I really should stop and go to bed. That would be advisable, as I don't think I'm gonna be able to keep at it for very... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

WAKE UP BOY, and let's fix that problem. :{)

You've got to watch out for that 'Karma'

It'll get you every time !

Say "It never breaks down"... and guess what happens? It breaks down

Say "I never get sick"... and you will get sick.

You've got to watch that stuff.

Re: I knew it was coming...

TWO POINT FIVE MILES !!, you whimp. I had to walk 15 miles once out of the bush in northern Michigan wearing a pair of stiff Hi-Point Alpine Star motocross boots.

15 miles in boots!?!?!? you whimp

when i was on my tour in 'nam i had to walk 34.6 clicks wearing bamboo slippers while dodging ak-47 rounds. once i got to the station, i delivered my message, they took my slippers and sent me back out.

where i was taken captive and mangaed to kill 4 of my captors with nothing but a bicycle chain and an apple. i got away and ran to the shore, about 200 miles, than swam to hawaii where i slept for the night, then took a paddle boat back to los angeles, once there i bought a pair of flip flops and ran to my home in northern iowa.

panzy...

I beg to differ. It was two in the morning and I had just left my friends house. The bike didn't even start in his driveway, but did I wake him up and ask for a ride? No. Did I wake my parents or anyone else up and ask them to come get me? Nooooo, I just walked the bike home (well, I pedaled it for a mile, pushed it for a half a mile, and put it in the ditch and walked another 2.5 miles, that's a total of 4 miles without a motor and on dizzying sleeplessness before a couple of guys picked me up.) I almost fell asleep in my friends chair, but I decided to not be a burden and just walk home. Straight-edge people aren't mean. In fact, It's been my experience that alcoholic jocks are the meanest, most sadistic people I've ever come in contact with. If a straight-edger has ever been mean to you, you probably brought it on yourself.

Ohhh, okay. Sorry about that, I'm a little slow. Yeah, I'll come up there some time, that would rock. It's nice to know there's a punk scene nearby, the Sioux Falls punk scene consists of a bunch of kids who dress the part but are too scared to dance at the shows.
