"Just curious, but has anyone seen, or does anyone have a Yamaha Chappy? Back in the late 1970's (1978/1979), Yamaha came out with a 50cc motorbike called a Chappy. They were very short, like a mini-bike. It was not legally classified as a moped because it didn't have pedals & you could not pedal it. I believe it had foot pegs. I haven't seen one in almost 20 years. I always thought they were really cool back in the 1970's when I was riding my original 1977 orange Motobecane, but because they were not classified as mopeds, you had to have a Motorcycle License to legally operate it. At age 15, this was not possible. <br>"

"I have a 1979 yamaha chappy. it runs excellent. I store it inside and always baby it. as for peddals. it is set up for them. when not in use, they fold back into foot pegs. I live in Holden Maine but I am on a friends computer."
