Pros and Cons of Being in a moped army

What are some of the Pros and Cons of being in a moped army:

What do u get out of it?

What does it cost?

and any more stuff like that

Or is it just a fun idea that gets u nothing but a group name?

Re: Pros and Cons of Being in a moped army

Pro: You get a TONNE of free help from everyone.

Con: ?

Pro: You make friends.

Con: ?

Pro: It's just a fun diversion from all of life's little hassles.

Con: ?

You don't HAVE to be given anything or pay for stuff to make it good, or worthwhile. Best I can say is that you'll only get out of it, what you want. The more you put in, the better it is for everyone.

Im not talking bout using this forum im talking about starting a branch in the moped army.

Re: Pros and Cons of Being in a moped army

So is Richard! You create a branch, you have friends to ride with, work with, to back you up. There's no member fees or any of that and you don't gain anything material from membership either.

Hey...I'd love to start a Toronto branch if anyone is interested. My hope is that around this time next year we could have a ride-in into Centenial Park ( for those who know Toronto this would be perfect) and have a day\weekend long BBQ\swapmeet\repair\skills exchange festival as it were. Of COURSE everyone would be welcome!!! I can just imagine the sound of a hundred mopeds cruising over the hills...heard, but not seen. Just like it is all the time to most drivers. I do have a few connections too, so I may (repeat...MAY) be able to get some sort of corporate sponsorship for it.

One can always dream.

or so I've heard

Chicago anyone?

I live just north of Chicago and know one other guy who's got a ped. Anyone care to join? Come on now, if we build up our forces we might be able to at least take over a small town in rural southern Illinois. Who's with me?!? Viva la army de moped!

Well you never know, I see more and more mopeds in toronto every day (just the other day actually was right behind another tomos waiting for a light... first time I think I'd even seen, let alone been part of, two mopeds together here :)

When I first started riding a moped I would go 4 months and maybe see one.. now I see them riding around the city weekly - I think toronto might end up not being far off from being able to have a Moped Army branch of its own.

(Mind you I've always wondered... with the moped army if you get into a war... would there be moped conscription? Take able bodied folks and force them to ride a moped? ;)

Hmm... I wonder if Ree would qualify for the moped Special Forces?

(pedal silently behind enemy lines, then start whacking em with a handy length of chain ;)

Re: Pros and Cons of Being in a moped army

Hey Sign me up for a toronto Army.

I think it would be great. I heard there was a vespa clan in T.O. that meet once a month and swap stories, beer, and parts.

there is supposedly a toronto moped club

http://torontomopedclub.hypermart.net/

But I haven't received a response about info or how many members.

I think itr should be free and based on volunteers.

Of course Corporate Sponsorship would always help.

Re: Pros and Cons of Being in a moped army

Actually,Jamie,I thought there was a moped club in Toronto. But maybe it was a scooter club.I'll try to find out.

Sadly, you also get ridiculed by people like me. I would say that is a Pro, but just for me. It is probably viewed as a Con by everyone else.
