Moped heaven!

"I don't what it's like in your areas, but there are literally NO moped shops within a 100 mile radius of where I live (Los Angeles). So, I was astonished to find a shop called Kon Tiki Motorcycles in Pacific Beach, CA (San Diego suburb) that had a moped heaven inside. There were several Ciaos, a Mobylette, a Benelli, a couple Puchs and a couple Hondas. It was, breaktaking, to say the least. Although the shop is a good two hour drive from my home, I'm definitely going to make several trips down there, just to shoot the shit with the guys and check out any new mopeds they have in stock. They specialize in really dirty old rare motorcycles and mopeds. It was a very cool experience for me.
_wal"

Re: Moped heaven!

"The best moped place i have ever been is columbus ohio. there are tons of mopeds, and a moped shop with real 1970's mopeds in boxes. they have all the partsin the world, and the they are just totally down with moped fever. Handybikes gave simon and i a giant vinyl banner that said motobecane mopeds on it. they also gave me a hero majestic t shirt when i ordered parts from them. "

"<table width=""450"">

The first time that you discover mopeds are actually sold in stores it is astonding. i know it was for me anyway. i wondered around Handy Bikes in Columbus, Ohio for a couple of hours - just gawking at the 1970's mopeds with 2 or 3 miles on them. The greatest part was that i didn't even know that the place existed, we happened to be in columbus with the mopeds for a music fest - and ran into a local that told us of the place.......
"
