Definately a slipping clutch or belt problem.

Check, recondition...possibly replace clutch.

Check belt for slipping, apply belt dressing,maybe replace belt.

Could you have the wrong belt on there, possibly ? the correct one has rubber "teeth" on it, as I recall.
