<HTML> 1) pull the spark plug

2) remove the side cover so you can see the flywheel

a. look thru the holes to locate the points.

b. determine the rotation of the engine by pedaling it over once.

3)put a screwdriver or something in the spark plug hole (carefully), and determine when the piston is at TDC ( top dead center)

4) adjust the points so that the just start to break contact when the piston is approximately 1mm before top dead center. ( correct procedure is to use a dial indicator to measure 1mm travel, instead of guessing with the screwdriver)

Note: 1mm to 1.5mm is a pretty standard setting for most mopeds. Usually this can be achieved by gapping points at .015, then doing measurement method to make sure it is w/ in specification.
