<HTML> 1) pull the spark plug

a. look thru the holes to locate the points.
b. determine the rotation of the engine by pedaling it over once.
3)put a screwdriver or something in the spark plug hole (carefully), and determine when the piston is at TDC ( top dead center)
4) adjust the points so that the just start to break contact when the piston is approximately 1mm before top dead center. ( correct procedure is to use a dial indicator to measure 1mm travel, instead of guessing with the screwdriver)
Note: 1mm to 1.5mm is a pretty standard setting for most mopeds. Usually this can be achieved by gapping points at .015, then doing measurement method to make sure it is w/ in specification.
