Jawa Babetta 1976

Does anybody have side covers(chain guards) for this bike that they want to sell, also still would like to get my hands on a coil for it.

I might just know...since my Ex now has a Babetta (by my best guess of what the hell it is)....this is the one with a Batavus engine ain't it ?

Cause I just might have a line on where to get those.

I dunno about chain guards, but the plastic cap over the Magneto or Clutch...apparently the same cover fits both sides, and but my info runs about $8.00 US each.

Also know a little about how to modify them, but most of the info I know is also covered by that guy with the Batavus page.

Lemme look for the info, and lemme know if that's a Batavus engine on there, allright ?

Oh...a Universal Bosch 6v Coil should fit the thing....anything that puts out 6v/22w at moped amperages should do it.

Hope that helps.

I have the small black center cover for it. The one sorta shaped like an H. I also have lot of mecanical parts, clutches brakes etc.

Re: Jawa Babetta 1976

A universal coil will not work. A 1976 JAWA should have the 207 engine. Coils are not the easiest to come by but if you're handy with a multi-meter, then head out to a junyard and start testing coils to find one with the correct secs. The most important thing is that the primary winding of the coil be of 1 ohm or less resistance as the thyristor ignition uses the coil as a ground. The secondary side should be around 6k. I've been working on my time machine made from JAWA ignition parts, and should soon be able to send coils and chain covers back in time. Oh, and BTW, enjoy your summer now, in about 3 months things are gonna get real fucked up!
