Peugeot

I just bought a '78 Peugeot that isn't running. I called the repair guy who was recommended to me and he said they're very hard to work on b/c of the electronic ignition. Clearly, there is a problem as the throttle cable is pulled up and almost disconnected. Will I have a hard time finding someone to fix it? I live in Western Mass.

I own three 1978 Peugeot 103s. They do not have electronic ignition. They have good old fashioned points and condensors.

Fix your moped yourself! No experience necessary.

Take a look at Fred's Guide for information on how to fix your moped. If you have specific (i.e. more specific than "My moped won't run"), post them on the forum and someone will be happy to help you out.

Chris.

Re: Peugeot

I used to have a Peugeot car, it was a good car, Had a sun roof, bought it for 700 bucks..Does That help, Probly not, but I know that was hard to work on too, its foreign made, but unlike some foreign made cars, parts were hard to get & were very very expensive.

Re: Peugeot

Chris is right, I'd steer clear of this of this "repair guy" and try to fix it myself. I have a clymer shop manual on the Peugeot 103 and would be more than happy to make copies for you. Read Fred's post here on how to fix your moped, very informative. Brian

Re: Peugeot

Brian,

Thanks for the offer. I'd love to fix it myself. Email me so we can figure out the details.

Thanks.

I have two 104's (same as 103 with a larger gas tank). I would like to get them running well.

Would it be possible to obtain a copy of your manual?

PS Cookster, if you can't figure the moped out yourself there is an old retired man in Easthampton MA who is excellent at fixing mopeds. I donthave his number but call around the motorcycle shops in the area they can give it to you.

Re: Peugeot 103 manual

Try searching the used book sites on the web. The book was for Peugeot 103's. You might have some luck there.
