I'm new to mopeds and I'm the first to admit I have a lot to learn. I just learned something that I'd like to share with others as green as myself. When you get your new moped be sure to check the transmission oil, don't depend on the dealer or distributor doing it for you. My new Avanti was doing odd things with the transmission, jumping and skipping, so I checked the oil and found there was almost none in there. Added non detergent 30 wt until it ran out of the hole, and it's fine now. Lucky I had not done any long rides yet and only have 100 miles on it so probably no damage was done. Just BEWARE.
