Problem with Puch?

I have a 78 puch maxi and it only runs well with the air box off, ive cleaned the carb dozens of times and decarbonized everything. i run 50:1 ratio. what could i adjust to make it work right with the airbox on? i have a biturbo on there too if that would change anything. also is it ok to run synthetic oil in my moped? i use castor927 in my dirtbike(its fully sythentic motocross racing oil) and it works great. these questions sound kind of ameteurish but ive never heard a answer. any help is greatly appreciated!

Hey Matt, I think you are probably running lean now that you have a scavenger exhaust. You may have to get a larger jet setup for the carb. I'm not real solid on two strokes though. I'm sure you'll get a accurate answer soon.

if your puch runs better w/ the air filter off then w/ it on and i mean lke a good 5-10 mph differance in speed then the jet in your carb is to big try getting a jet about 2 sizes smaller the size of ur jet will be stamped on the side of it when u remove it from the carb

Stonerdog is right but make sure you do a plug chop to check that your mixture is not too lean.
