Velosolex Solex Models

  • Prototype (1941)
  • 45 cc (1946-53) First production model.

- 45 cc engine. - 1946-51 > 26 1/2" wheels. 1951-53 > 24" wheels. - Swan-neck frame.

  • 330 (1953-55)

- introduction of 49 cc engine

  • 660 (1955-57)

- introduction of round-tube frame

  • 1010 (1957-58)

- introduction of domed piston

  • 1400 (1958-59)

- first model with 23" wheels (19" x 1 3/4" tires).

  • 1700 (1959-61)

- first model with a clutch.

  • S 2200 V1 (1961-62)

- Cyclomoteur 2200 engine - first model with air filter assembly covering spark plug.

  • S 2200 V2 (1962-64)

- Cyclomoteur 2200 engine - front brake lever controls front brake and throttle.

  • S 3300 (1964-66)

- Cyclomoteur 2200 engine with new fuel system - introduction of square-tube frame - first model with rear drum brake standard

- Cyclomoteur 3800 engine - export model...sold in USA, Canada, UK/England, Denmark, Greece, Tunisia, Uruguay, Chile, Peru - basically a model S 3800 frame with a model 5000 headlight, handlebars, engine and controls.

  • 4600 V2 (1975) aka "The Horse"

- Cyclomoteur 3800 engine - sold only in the USA and Canada - brake light - electric horn - engine stop switch - extra coil to power the brake light - CEV 6 V 21 W round headlight - CEV taillight, dual-element #1154 bulb - larger lighting coil to power horn & larger lights - available in blue, orange, yellow and black

  • 4600 V3 (1977-79)

- Cyclomoteur 3800 engine - sold only in the USA - brake light - electric horn - engine stop switch - extra coil to power the brake light - GE 6 V 18 W round headlight - ULO taillight, dual-element #1154 bulb - larger lighting coil to power horn & larger lights - 1977 ~ available in blue, yellow or black - 1978 ~ available in blue or yellow - 1979 ~ available only in yellow
