Oil for a moped can refer to one of several different kinds of lubricants.

• Two stroke oil is mixed with gasoline and burned in the combustion process. This oil is very important for a two stroke engine; without it, the engine will seize.
• Transmission oil or transmission fluid is used in some mopeds to make the clutch(es) work properly.
