Mission 23 is the original New York City branch of the Moped Army. It was founded in 2003 by Gabriel Drummond-Cole, Althea Erickson, Alison Gies, Carrie Netzer, and Annie Tsui. Most of the members of Mission 23 live in Brooklyn, while the ultra exclusive Gun Money chapter lives in Manhattan. The gang's symbol is a jackalope with an antler with 2 points and an antler with 3 points, respectively. They go by the nicknames M23, Missionaries, Turd Burglars, and Garlic Paradise.

They maintain an email list that dates back to Jun 22, 2005. The "list" was created for mopeders in NYC to communicate, gather, and set up rides. To join the list, follow this link: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/mission23/
