Hardwiring

Hardwiring means removing lighting switches so that the running lights are always on. this involves running wiring directly from the stator to bulbs, sometimes via a voltage regulator. brakelights cannot be "hardwired", same with horns, those are deletes.

the second sense of the word involves running return wiring from devices, bulbs, coils, horn, etc. back to the stator, eliminating grounding to the frame, fender, etc. a successful hardwire would eliminate any frame grounds, for reliable trouble free electrics
