well not a lot to tell. im what most folks call a jack of all trades. theres a lil bit of mechanic mixed up in there to. i happened to be lucky enough to get the chance to work on and fix an 84 Derbi SL Variant. its actually the same model and color as the Derbi Variant that starred in War Games. i would like to find out if it isnt THE actual scooter from the movie. this scooter, with the exception of being 25 years old is close to mint cond. my wifes boss bought it for a girlfriend as a lake bike. it was not running when bought so he put it in a motorcycle repair shop. it sat there for 2 years and never got repaired. after he picked it up he brought it to me. within an hour of starting on it a buddy and i found the problem. the spark plug boot had gotten hot and melted from the inside out in a little spot. so the engine was not getting any fire. we took the bad boot off and replaced it. and i swear the bike started rite up and runs like a champ. now i could give it back to him as is and prolly be ok. but thats not really my style. i would like to give it a good tune up before returning it. i have some questions i could really use some help with. so thank you all in advance. i look forward to workin with yall.
