I have been looking in to getting a moped for a while, and always wanted a classic frame, because they are way cooler then new mopeds. However, I either never had the money or never could find the body style I like. That is untill one day when I was brousing craigslist and found a 1979 Batavus Regency for 60 bucks. You might be thinking, man thats cheep, must be a piece of crap. Thats kinda what I thought too, but i went to look at it anyway. To my suprise it is in pretty much ment condition. The guy who sold it to me said that he had won it in a raffel in the 70's and planed to give it to his kids, but they did'nt want it. So it just sat in his shead for 30 years untill I bought it about a month ago.
Now, ment condition is probly not accurate because it has been sitting for so long. However, it dose have all its origional parts and there are only two things keeping me from riding this off into the sunset. 1. the front wheel is, well... a toco. 2. the engion is froze from sitting.
To remidy the the sized engion i have had it the piston sitting in penatrating oil for about a month with on progress.
So my question is this if anyone knows: Where can I get parts, I have serfed the web only to find that Batavus parts are very rare. Are there any mopeds that are have parts that would fit as replacements, like puch. And are their any proformance parts that will fit, like a 70cc head or a proformance exhoust.
