Re: Hobbit springs for a stock setup
Yes. pa50I weights are 8g and your pa 50 weights are 11g. The clanking is probably the caps that have dried out and busted. Clean that shit out bc it will groove your ramp plate and permanantly fuck your acceleration curve. My first hobbit sounds similar to yours. With the proma i was doing 37-38. I wanted 40+. Got lighter 8g lights from Graham Motzing. My top end decreased,@35, and the acceleration increased, which actually makes sense. The lighter weights throw out quicker than heavier weights that want to stay at rest. The heavier weights eventually throw out and cause you variate more fully. Honda wanted to restict PA50I's and the lighter weights was one of the ways they diminished speed. I eventually kitted with a 70cc Polini so it was ok, but if you want to maintain this set up i would look for heavier PA50II weights that are in good shape or repair you old ones. Get everything tip top and lubed and tuned correctly and you should hit 40. On of my stock hobbits with only a circuit (minarelli) hits 43.
