Piston Question
Can you run a reed piston in a piston port cylinder?
i have a Robin/G2 with what might be the last polini kit ever for them. dude seized it hard, pistons done & cylinder deep scratches. closest piston i could find was for a yamaha ysr 50 kit. besides being 1mm larger diameter, everything is really close (within .5mm) and the piston is waaaay better construction. had the cylinder bored, and when i got the piston realized there's intake window cut into the piston for reeds. i was thinking the biggest effect would be more fuel mix coming back up through the carb?
i know i could slap it together and see for myself, but if anyone has advice/experience/suggestions on how it would (or wouldn't) run or effect tuning i'd like to hear them. adding reeds would be fun haha- but yeah if this works i found a readily available 50$ solution for a kit that is no longer made.
