Yeah, that spoke-clamp thing is going to be a weak point until
you replace it with something like this - that particular example is for a fixed-wheel bicycle, but the idea is the same.
Also, I have to ask you because you seem to know your shixt -
what is the advantage to the curved section at the outlet end of
the pipe you made? Aside from not burning your leg, I mean.
