Sounds like fuel delivery or an airleak.


check float bowl for functionality.
drill a hole in your gas cap.
open up the petcock a bit.
if applicable make sure your fuel filter is flowing well...

It's always good to go back and re-set your points and clean them, Wierd problems always seem to back to the electrical system, no matter how convinced I am it's a fuel delivery issue.

other possibility is that you may have play in your crank, which can cause airleaks at high RPM.
