D is the best. C is the second best, B is the worst and A is bad too.
I think the C and D are rated at 30mph, but the c is more like 28 and the D more like 35. B is like 20 and A is like 25. The D has a longer stroke so it has a bigger displacement. Its probably the best common moped engine.
They have a little plate on the engine that says what they are. At a glance, the D and C have a more square top end and the A and B have a smaller more rounded looking jug.
I think the WIki has all this stuff and more. Also the search function is helpful.
