6V to 12v Conversions REGULATOR
Has anyone tried these to run 12v bulbs from the tiny flywheel in bikes with direct lighting, like people do with Enduros. It seems a really quick way of converting 6v to 12v, if it works, and would be really useful with Little Hondas
I get that it'll stop bulbs blowing, and that the flywheel's capable of producing 12v, but why would it be any different to just banging in a 12v bulb anyway? It wouldn't blow up, sure , but wouldn't the other lights be dimmer, the horn not as loud etc. etc. etc?
Does anyone know the difference between a moose voltage regulator and a rectifier with a zener diode? Are they the same thing, as they both take regulate the voltage at 12v and give the excess current out as heat, right? I've read somewhere else that you can get the flywheel to CHARGE A 12V BATTERY, does anyone know about this?
