Bogging off line after engine work
Here's the deal: Was running strong with the following:
MK65
19mm phbg
biturbo
milled head
widened ports
I had good bottom end and decent top end.
So next I:
I went ahead and chopped the pistons intake side skirt (in a U shape so there was no skirt hanging out at TDC) and opened up it's transfer gaps to match the engine.
Results were better top end (i think), however, it completely bogs if you go WOT from a stand still, if you let off it starts doing better. Once youre going 5mph or so it starts to perform normally and I can go WOT.
I also soft seized it after a straightaway when I let off the throttle. I figured it might be due to air leaks but I am not sure. I took the intake and carb apart and sealed it again as best I could. PLug right now is coffee brown, but I havent taken the risk of a big straightaway yet.
I am not sure what is going on. I dont seem to have any MAJOR air leaks anymore, but it's still bogging. It does lose a couple RPM if I spray it and I can kill it with the starter fluid if I keeeeeeep spraying.
Do you guys have any ideas?
