Re: Magnum XK where to begin upgrades / angled exh
Best way to learn 2 stroke tuning/ performance with a puch:
First step, rebuild your motor. New seals and bearings. You learn a lot this way and it's really simple. There are at least a few really good how to videos on it...
Start with a stock 1.5 or 2hp Puch cylinder and head, low/mid range pipe and a high flow filter. You will learn the woh's of carb tuning this way because you will have to get your main jet and needle setting right. You can also mes with your gearing to see what works best to get you what you are looking for on take off or top end...
Once you figure out how to tune for the new pipe and air flow and you rock that for a while, then upgrade your carb to a 15mm Bing and intake.
After you have all that wired, ge a Polini kit and tune that with the 15mm bing. Polinis with a 15mm Bing shred. After you have that wired, buy a spare E50 and build a Gilardoni motor.
