Re: vespa owners: belt compliaton thread
Well I went to farm and fleet and bought a 1/2" by 40".
It didn't work at all, it has this cloth/string coating on the outside.
This coating makes sure that the belt has zero grip. What use a belt with no grip has I am not sure, but there must be some application.
I called every damn auto parts/hardware store in town, and none of them had that AX39 belt. The soonest anyone could get one is Thursday, so I guess I return this POS L440 belt and wait, and wait.
I saw they had this other belt that didn't have the string shit, and it had teeth on it, but the teeth were on the wrong side. This belt was 15/32", which is almost exactly the right width, plus they had one in 40" and one in 40.5" but whatever, I will just wait until I can get what seems to be the only belt that seems to work well.
