Sito Plus on Bravo
I just put a Sito Plus exhaust on my Bravo with a stock 12/10 carb. I was able to find more questions than answers on this forum, and I'll probably have a lot myself, but I thought I'd add this to the forum for anyone else that is looking for info on it.
The Sito exhaust looks just like the stock exhaust, but the neck is fatter, and the body is fatter and about 3 or 4 inches longer. The Sito is about twice as heavy as the Stock. The mounting bracket that attaches to the frame is about 2" to the rear of the original. There's a photo attached here.
To mount the Sito, you'll have to drill a hole in the side panel to match up with the mounting bracket. Make the hole a little bit long, so that you have some back and forth adjustment when attaching it to the exhaust port.
Since the Sito is fatter, your right pedal is going to hit it. I've heard the same thing is true on a Ciao. I haven't solved this one yet. I might try to bang out the pedal arm an eigth to a quarter of an inch rather than looking for shorter pedal arms.
So far I haven't done any jetting or air adjustments. Obviously this will be a big part of it, but I haven't gotten there yet.
Without any adjustments to the stock setup, I have an improved mid range and top end, not so sure about the low end. It's really nice to be getting some more power out of my 25mph Bravo. Right now on a starightaway I'm hitting about 30mph. It's difficult to tell, as my speedo needle bobs up and down a lot.
I'm going to try to determine whether I can leave it as is without burning too rich or too lean. If it's fine as is, this will be a great, easy solution for anyone looking for a little more power with little work. If it does not burn correctly as is, I'll try to find the easiest solution and post it here.
From there I'll see if I can get more power by increasing jet size and air flow, and post all of that info here.
