GREAT IDEA--Tightening your Flywheel Down
So, my friend Richard Butler, Emily's dad from Motion Left, had a great idea. I was trying to get my flywheel tightened down better than just using my hand to brace it and a hammer to hit the socket wrench. Here's what he suggested:
Remove the sparkplug from the piston shaft. Move the piston so it is all the way in. Take some soft clothes line and string it into the piston shaft through the spark plug hole. Put it in till you can't get anymore to fit then stuff a little more in. The clothes line will hold the flywheel still so that you can crank the flywheel down tight as tight as you can get it. It's soft so it won't score the piston or piston shaft.
About Richard? He's a small engine mechanic.
