so,

after my bike sat for a bit because i needed a new fork race, i finally got it put back together.

i put the throttle cable on the wrong side, but at first i thought the idle speed was set to high. so i bumped that down only to realize the throttle was open a bit. so i got it unstuck.

now for riding! right? nope.

i started it long enough to crack a smile. it soon puttered out. hmm.. so i change the spark plug. damn, was it dirty!! (thanks for thee new plug, chad). we checked, its getting great spark.

by that time my carb was full of gas, so i took it off, cleaned the jet, emptied it of gas. and let it dry out a bit.

i put it back on, new fuel lines, new filter. put the idle in all the way. pulled it out 1.5 turns. petcock on. kill switch on. tried to start it a few times. after some gas made its way into the engine it fired up. but it died right away, so i tried again. nothing. fuck. i pulled the idle out a bit more. i smelled gas.

emptied the carb again. reset idle speed to 1.5ish turns out. it fired right up but refuses to keep running with out a bit of the throttle.

i am the first to admit im reatarded when it comes to most shit. so keep in mind i may not have done anything correctly. what could the problem be? i think my idle is way off, but im not sure how to get it right. i sat there keeping it alive a little gas at a time while turning the screw out 1/4 turn. it still would die when i let off the throttle.

any help/insight is much appreciated.
