batavus still no spark
HELP! i am going nuts, i have a batavus grand prix, i cannot get any spark. i cleaned/filed/adjusted points. nothing. changed plug, plug wire, plug runs in other engine. wire ohms out to near no resistance, i have searched all online and cannot find the correct wiring diagram. i have a green/yellow, not green black that has a ring terminal, which looks like it should be the ground. a black wire comes with it from the flywheel area to the coil and split to the top distribution block. on a multimeter everything shows proper continuity, if i spin the engine over the meter will show - at most points, at one time i hit 6 volts but that was it. mostly its around .001-.017. i am baffled. sure its been years since i have dealt with this stuff. i straight wired the positive out of the flywheel area to the coil with the ground. still nothing.
condensor? bad points? i am gonna have to pull the flywheel i think. i bought this thing for $10.00 thought easy fix. points are set to .016 and plug gap to .020 by all the batavus manuals i read online.
thanks for help
