YOu don't need to make a new cable, just tighten the one you have. There _should_ be an adjuster screw on the lever you pull to start the bike.

Bring the valve with you to the hardware store, or nut and bolt supply place. Match the metric threads, and gogogo.

Christopher- if you didn't notice a difference your valve was bad. If you plug it you will do a lot better, and oil won't dump out the bottom of your cylinder.
