Looking for help in the Boston area

iammikecohen (iammikecohen) — Nov 04, 2009 10:36PM

Hey I'm new to mopeds. Bought one busted thinking I could fix it up with the wealth of knowledge on here but am running out of options. If you're around and more handy I'll pay for your time/buy you some drinks if you help me out. I'm in Allston/Brighton

About the bike:
87 Trac Olympic
120lbs compression
spark (there but might be weak)
Carb (cleaned it... I think)
Timing 22 degrees btdc (full advance. not sure what is stock, but this seems to get more signs of life)

I've got it starting to putter once per kick (better then when I got it) but it won't seem to turn over.

Not ready to give up on this one before buying another (I'm pretty hyped on the moped idea... finally committed to buying one after a year or so of contemplation)

I'm also putting this on CL but I would rather work with a moped enthusiast then some mechanic that fixes cars/lawnmowers
