Re: Hobbit Starting Issues

latebreak (latebreak) — Nov 04, 2009 12:39PM

Here is the history.

I bought it, was running like shit and totally stock.

-Cleaned carb
-Ran like shit still
-Cleaned carb with air compressor and blew out all ports/passages
-Ran great (about 30mph)
-Added Leo Vince Pipe
-Ran really great (about 36 mph) and plug chopped
-Plug was slightly tan, so added a Honda #80 jet (stock was #78)
-The above issues started

I've since cleaned the carb about 4 more times. I know it is clean.

The piston was never out. I verified that the EX was facing the exhaust port when I had the head off to check the port and decarbonize the piston/head (which was super clean).

Fresh fuel with redline synthetic at 40:1 mixture.

I'm starting to feel like a failure with this Hobbit. I'm a pretty savvy person and this has me at my witts end.
