Hobbit Starting Issues

latebreak (latebreak) — Nov 03, 2009 09:48PM

So I have been fighting this Hobbit for a few weeks now since I bought it.

When I try to start it, the thing is only popping through the exhaust, I can never get it to actually fire. This would tell me timing is off, but the timing seems correct to me. Point gap is fine also. New Plug.

The carb has been cleaned about 8 times. It is spotless. I've soaked it in carb spray, blew it out with my compressor, used super fine wire to clean passages, removed the welch plug, etc, etc, etc. It is clean.

I highly doubt there are any air leaks.

I pulled the head and de-carboned it. New gasket installed.

Exhaust port is clean.

Leo Vince exhaust. New gasket.

#80 main jet.

Compression is good.

Any ideas?

My other hobbit has never given me any grief. That one just works. This one is definitely a female.
