Now THAT could be your problem! I just looked at your pictures more closely. The retaining clip (#8) looks like it could be coming in contact with the remnants of your guide pin. This would totally cause everything that is happening to you clutch engagement wise. Rotate the clip so that the big tab is not over the missing pin. That should do it.
