Re: Puch brakes
I dunno... the moped I have that has the worst brakes kind of stumped me. I replaced the shoes (I tried two different sets, actually), I replaced the cable, I tried sanding down the leading edge of the shoes (Deezy made a post about this in the GenForum a while back), I tried scuffing up the drum and brake shoes, I cleaned the **** out of everything, and nothing I did would make my back brake work any better. It seemed like the new shoes wore in and got a little better with time, and making sure my cable was extra tight (like, just shy of dragging the wheel) helped. I've heard that cutting diagonal hatches (just one or two) in each shoe helps, but I've never tried it.
