Re: Kreidler Clutch
Mine is an 1981 MP-19 that was stored under a cover in a garage sice 1985 with only 660 miles on it.
The buddy seat MP-19 in a Dukes of Hazzard Orange color.
It was pristine.
Got new orange lenses for the blinkers. Pegs at rear shocks. Couple new bulbs.
Got rid of the rust in the Gas tank.LONG process.
I run 100LL from a local airport and some 2-stroke racing oil.
It makes a difference at the top of a long hill with my girlfriend on the back.
We took it from Central CT, to RI-CT border over a 215 mile round-trip this summer.
Just a back-pack and cash.
It was topping out at 38 downhill and on the flat roads.
Only thing was it shifted at 9 MPH.
So that means it waited until 9, to down-shift up hills.
Tomorrow I see him and drop off the modified clutch to see if the new one shifted any later.
I sanded 5 coils off spring inside @nd gear clutch and filed the clutch shoes so they had a nice taper instead between each shoe and maybe not make that chatter.
I'll keep you posted in this thread.
Made it my bookmark.
